DMI wants to focus on the entrepreneurial teachers who brave the challenges of starting their own teaching business. This is a unique and new kind of thinking for an established music school and we’re extremely excited to roll out this program in 2019!
HOW IT WORKS ~ Where you teach is important to your brand as an instructor. One way to immediately increase your client’s perception of your teaching business is to teach in an established and respected location. You can “borrow” the reputation of the established business, while you develop the reputation of your own. The problem, of course, is that many schools who have been around a while, have their own student base and don’t need to rent out rooms. In fact, it might complicate their business model or change it up enough that it makes the school administrators uncomfortable. Cue DMI. We are introducing a revolutionary concept in music schools. One in which we “co-brand” our company with yours. Read on to learn just how good this gets for you!
DENVER MUSIC INSTITUTE’s NEW BUSINESS MODEL
First a quick bit of history. IN 2016, the Denver Music Institute went through a major makeover both physically and in concept. New owners took over DMI and saw the potential for a new kind of school. DMI would become a school that focussed on the careers of the teacher as well as the care and instruction of the student. Part of this new concept was to invite teachers who run their own businesses into our space at reasonable prices, offering both hourly or long term lease options. Renting by the hour is something other schools do, but providing long term leases is new. We’ve studied this model and can accommodate approximately 5 private teacher companies into our school.
UPON ROLLING OUT THIS PROGRAM ~ within one month two teacher companies have already signed leases with us! Here’s one of the prime reasons.

I’m Alan Currens, and DMI’s Teacher Rentals program is my outreach program to enhance your independent teaching business.
Of course, a primary benefit to renting your own space is that you can fully manage your own students in the way your prefer. But it is often difficult for independent teachers to gather new students. Marketing can be expensive and time consuming and it takes quite a while for your name to get out there by word of mouth ~ Imagine that, as a teacher, you were able to borrow the reputation and student base of an established school while also introducing your brand/company name to the field. At DMI, you can. You can post your company name, hang a sign, customize your room and run business your way and DMI will feed your school with students we gather from our own marketing. Because we vet our renters, we have the confidence that our own name is protected in this process. *In these instances, student tuitions will be collected by DMI. Special rates will apply.
IN SUMMARY ~ We’ll use our SEO and reputation to find students and if you are one of our vetted teacher rentals, we’ll pass them on to you. This gives you a chance to build your student base and your income, and to get your company name into the area and GROW! All with the support of DMI.
